Holiday Cottages For Summer 2022

Everybody deserves a break and if you’re looking to book soon we have holiday cottages for summer 2022 here at Stonehayes Farm. Come and stay for a week or a short break in July or August and enjoy peace and quiet in the Devon countryside, with plenty to see and do nearby if you want to venture out and about. Our cottages are family friendly and dog friendly and well equipped with all you need for a happy holiday.

Stonehayes Farm is a very special place. Come and stay at one of our holiday cottages for summer 2022 and see for yourself just how wonderful it is here. Centuries old barns and the beautiful thatched farmhouse have been lovingly converted to provide holiday accommodation for families and friends. We have 15 acres of private grounds for you to explore and a shared games room which makes a great place to hang out, with a pool table, table tennis and table football.

Stonehayes Farm

Our holiday cottages for summer 2022 are perfect for families with younger children – we supply cots, highchairs and stairgates for each property and all have their own garden with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. Out in the field there’s a fantastic play area with swings, a trampoline and a nest swing, and a picnic area and built in BBQ. You can take a leisurely stroll down to the River Luv, take off your socks and shoes and have a paddle; on the way back have a nature walk, looking out for the birds that nest at Stonehayes Farm, for butterflies dancing along the hedgerows and big fat bumble bees out collecting nectar. It’s a delicious slice of country life here; it’s peaceful and we’re surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Otter Valley – wide open fields, softly rolling hills dotted with copses and farmstead. You can see for miles, the air is fresh and clear and the birds twitter all day long.

The chances are you’ll be perfectly content to spend the time pottering around here at the farm, but if you decide to venture out and about you’ll find plenty to see and do. Honiton is only a very short drive away and if you go on market day when the main street is lined with stalls the atmosphere is happy and chattery. Book up at The Honiton Pottery Workshop and have fun making or painting your own ceramics to take home, get creative at The Thelma Hulbert Gallery, and if you have tiny tots with you, take them to Planet Play to let off steam. Afterwards you can all go for delicious steamed buns at The Yellow Deli or to Bella Pizza for yummy Italian food.

Just outside of town you can have what we think are the best ice creams ever, at Otter Valley Ice Cream & Field Kitchen; they do lots of unusual flavours, all made with milk from their very own cows. Up the road you can go to The Aviator Coffee Bar & Restaurant at Dunkeswell Airfield; linger a while and watch the light aircraft come and go. You may see parachutes landing or some brave soul wing walking.

Devon coastline

The other good thing about our holiday cottages for summer 2022 is that they aren’t far at all from the beach. The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site is only about half an hour away and has several beaches to choose from, all very different, each with their appeal. The most popular is Lyme Regis just over the border in Dorset; go there and you can visit Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and the Marine Aquarium, play crazy golf in the town gardens and make sandcastles on the beach. Sidmouth is good too, with a long stretch of sand and shingle and a distinctive seaside air - rather like Exmouth. Beer is a quiet fishing village where you can have crab sandwiches by the shore at Ducky’s Beach Café, ride on the miniature train at Pecorama and see the incredible underground caverns at Beer Quarry Caves. Branscombe is like a step back in time; flower hung cottages line the street that slopes gently down to the sea where you can tuck into homemade food and Devon cream teas at the Sea Shanty Beach Café.

Outdoor dining at Stonehayes Farm

If you like to get out for a good walk Stonehayes Farm makes a great base as we’re right in the Blackdown Hills AONB here and there’s no shortage of local nature reserves and trails to follow. There’s the South West Coast Path and The East Devon Way, both great for enjoying the glorious countryside in this neck of the woods. Tie in a hike with a very deserving pub lunch – The Drewe Arms at Payhembury, The Hare & Hounds at Sidbury and the Culm Valley Inn at Culmstock are all recommended.

We have availability at our smaller cottages for July and August; these sleep 4-6 guests and prices start from £850 for a 7 night stay. If there’s a bigger group of you we have just one 4 night slot in July at Whinchat Barns which sleeps 11, or at Pippinsands, the beautiful thatched farmhouse, which sleeps 14 – and at just over £42 per night each, that’s not to be scoffed at! Get yourselves comfy and take a closer look at our holiday cottages for summer 2022 because it’s so lovely here and we don’t want you to miss out on a stay in the country that we know you’ll love. Come and unwind, be happy, make extra special memories to take home and treasure. We can’t wait to meet you ❤️
