Family Friendly Holiday Cottages For Easter 2023

If you didn’t manage to get away for a half-term break, fear not; the next school holidays will soon be here. Book a stay at our family friendly holiday cottages for Easter 2023 and enjoy the peace and quiet, local events and attractions, and days by the sea. We love having happy families to stay here at Stonehayes Farm, and the good news is that the pet pooch can come too because all our Devon holiday cottages are dog friendly!

No matter how long you stay at our family friendly holiday cottages for Easter 2023, you’ll find it’s a different world. We’re easy to get to, with the A303, the A30 and the A35 just a few miles away, but once you get off the main roads and start heading up into the Blackdown Hills it all changes. This is so far away from the hubbub of life in the cities and big towns, this is somewhere you can completely relax. Forget about work, forget about the lunchboxes and school uniforms, just cosy up in your country cottage and savour downtime with the people who mean the most to you.

You don’t even have to go anywhere when you’re staying at Stonehayes Farm because there are 15 acres of grounds here for you to explore; there’s a barbecue area and play equipment, you can wander down across the fields for a paddle in the river or a bankside picnic, do a bit of nature spotting, see what you can see. All around is the glorious scenery of the Blackdown Hills, softly rolling, fields stretching on forever, immense open skies – it’s no surprise that this is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty! Go to the top of Dumpdon Hill up behind the farm and the views are breathtaking – and the bluebells will be out, one of nature’s spectacles.

We also have a shared games room where you can play table tennis, pool and table football; the little ones will love the toys and games, and what we’ve noticed is that people get to know each other here, so you go home with new friends as well as happy memories. If you stay at Dippers Rest you’ll have the luxury of your own private hot tub; if the weather’s good you can look forward to a good soak as cotton wool clouds drift slowly by in a cornflower blue sky. If there’s a bigger group of you, say friends and their families, book Whinchat Barns – there’s snooze space for 11 and a private hot tub.

If you want to get out and explore the local area in this part of Devon, you’ll find plenty of family attractions and great places to eat – and because it’s Easter there will be activities and Egg Hunts. Have a day of fun at award-winning Crealy Park where there are over 60 rides and a Dino Egg Hunt, join in the Easter Egg Trails at Killerton and Knightshayes (both NT), and check out the exciting rides at Seaton Tramway where you can journey through the wetlands on The Pirate Tram, The Fairytale Tram or the Dinosaur Adventure Tram. At World of Country Life near Exmouth there are arts and craft sessions and an Egg Trail, and at Coldharbour Mill at Uffculme there’s a Mad Hatters and March Hares event on April 10th.

There is so much to see and do within an easy drive of Stonehayes Farm – go trekking with Little Orchard Alpacas, take on the adventure course challenge at The Bear Trail near Cullompton, play crazy golf and ride the miniature train at Bicton Park, spot the elusive red squirrels and ride the zip wire at Wildwood Escot. Just down the road in Honiton there will be exhibitions and workshops at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery, and at Honiton Pottery Workshop you can paint your own plate or mug – a lovely momento of your family holiday in Devon. The Jurassic Coast is less than 30 minutes away and has such varied beaches – our favourites are Lyme Regis and Sidmouth, and the coastal villages of Beer and Branscombe, all great for days out.

The Easter holidays are such a wonderful time of year, especially in the country; the birds will be busy in the hedgerows, spring flowers will be out and the air feels so fresh and clear that time of year, especially with the lighter evenings. Come and make eggstra (groan!) special memories, come and be happy in the magical world we have here at Stonehayes Farm – we can’t wait to meet you!
