Holiday Cottages in Devon 2020

We hope that you've been enjoying our Lockdown Lookabout whilst we had to close our holiday cottages in Devon for 2020 - thank you for joining us! Hopefully, you can join us for real now because in line with the latest government guidelines, Stonehayes Farm will be open to guests again from 4th July. If like a lot of people you’re feeling the need for a holiday, or if you had to cancel your plans to go away and are now looking for a great place to stay in the UK, have a look, see if there are any dates that suit you, and if you have any queries just give us a call.

It’s been the strangest few months ever, hasn’t it? With so much uncertainty everyone has been feeling very unsettled and anxious; unfortunately, it’s been a very sad time for those who have lost loved ones, and our thoughts are very much with them. We feel for the people who have missed seeing their nearest and dearest, for those who have lost work, for anyone who has found this ghastly situation a struggle. We’ve all been through these unprecedented times together, none of us really knowing quite what’s going on, just bumbling along following the advice we’ve been given by the powers that be.

And here we are, at the end of June, with things slowly starting to return to some kind of ‘normal’, whatever that will be. We’ve missed not having anyone here to stay at Stonehayes Farm, it’s been so quiet without our lovely guests about. The birds have been twittering away from dawn ‘till dusk but it’s not the same, we like to hear the happy chatter of people as they relax and enjoy their holidays here, we like to hear the shrieks and laughter of children merrily playing on the slide and the play fort, or tearing around the fields.

So it’ll be so good to have you back, we can’t wait. We’ve already got a lot of bookings lined up for our holiday cottages in Devon for 2020 as it seems that a lot of folk are desperate to get away, and who can blame them? We haven't a clue exactly what else will be open and what won’t, but we’ll do our best to make sure you have a wonderful time.

We’ll also do everything in line with government advice, which obviously means adhering to strict hygiene and cleaning regimes; as always, the wellbeing of our guests is at the forefront, that doesn’t change.  Before we re-open we would like to reassure you that we have acted fully in line with the very latest advice and that we have completed the Visit England Accredited Online Certificate for each of our properties – this is a measure that’s been recently introduced to confirm that all the necessary procedures have been put into place to make our industry low risk to guests, and that we are Good To Go in line with industry standards.

But we need you to do your bit too; if anyone in your party has symptoms of Covid-19 or has been told to self-isolate they must not come to our Devon holiday cottages. When you’re here you might have to stick to physical distancing from guests who are staying in our other cottages, but that’s easy. Then after you’ve left, it’s very important that you let us know if anyone in your group develops symptoms or is tested positive for Covid-19.

The government advice is to stay alert and that’s what we all must do, but it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a holiday in the country at Stonehayes Farm. There are more and more family attractions re-opening now, there are beaches nearby that don’t tend to get that busy, and of course, right on the doorstep there’s a big wide outdoor world to explore. We have 15 acres at your disposal, where you can wander freely, stroll down to the river, take a picnic in the fields, play rounders, whatever you like. Beyond that are miles and miles of beautiful Blackdown Hills countryside, with footpaths, bridleways and meandering country lanes to walk. All that fresh air and exercise, it’s so good for you!

We all deserve a little happiness after these harrowing times and we believe that’s what you’ll find at our Devon holiday cottages for 2020. It’s a happy place is Stonehayes Farm, somewhere you can unwind, a little haven where you can come and let go of all the stress that we’ve all had to endure of late. Have a look at what we’ve got and you’ll see what we mean; if you like what you see act quickly because things are fast filling up now. We are so excited to be throwing open the doors of our family friendly holiday houses again! We can’t wait to see you 🤍
