Summer Holiday Cottages in Devon For 2021

Well, if you’re looking for the perfect summer holiday cottages in Devon for 2021, now’s the time to book. The Health Secretary suggests that people should plan for a great British summer rather than think of going abroad just yet; he’s also revealed that he’s booked his summer holidays in the West Country already, so if he’s thinking positive…

We have the loveliest summer holiday cottages in Devon for 2021, perfect for friends and families and larger groups, and here’s 10 good reasons why you should come and stay:

1.  The location – it’s fabulous!

Out in the country, surrounded by the wide open fields and rolling hills of the Otter Valley. Think birds busy in the hedgerows, sheep grazing contentedly in the fields, butterflies flitting in summer skies. And what makes it even better is that we have 15 acres of private land for you to explore, with walks along the river, picnics in the fields, and an awesome play area for the children.

2.  The cottages – they’re charming!

It’s true! Our summer holiday cottages in Devon for 2021 used to be part of a busy working farm back in the day; they were barns used for housing animals and storing hay and apples, and Pippinsands was the farmhouse. But times change and now we’ve got five gorgeous and well equipped holiday cottages here, with plenty of rustic character and classic country charm.

3.  We’re family friendly!

We love having families here to stay at Stonehayes Farm, we love to see people enjoying their holidays and we’re always delighted when our guests come back again. We have a games room where there’s something for all ages a brilliant play area and a trampoline, and if you have tiny tots we can supply cots, highchairs and stairgates.

4.  The beach isn’t far!

Within just half an hour you can be on the beautiful Jurassic Coast, discovering the beaches of East Devon and Dorset. Visit Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and the Marine Aquarium at Lyme Regis, have a ride on the tram at Seaton, go mackerel fishing or visit the caves at Beer, see the working forge at Branscombe, enjoy watersports at Sidmouth and Exmouth.

5. The best ever ice creams!

Seriously! Just down the road is Otter Valley Ice Cream & Field Kitchen where they make the most delicious ice cream with milk from their own cows. There are so many flavours to choose from – vanilla, honeycomb, lemon & lime meringue, rice pudding and jam, strawberry & balsamic vinegar and loads more. The views from the Field Kitchen café are incredible, the food wholesome and tasty.

6.  This is good walking country!

Yes indeedy, our summer holiday cottages in Devon for 2021 make an excellent base for a walking holiday, or for those of you who just like to stretch your legs. We’re in the Blackdown Hills here, so there’s a multitude of trails and footpaths that take you deep into the countryside. Dumpdon Hill, Hembury Fort, Culm Beacon and Otterhead Lakes are all beautiful places.

7.  We’re dog friendly!

We love dogs and we understand that your pet is very much part of the family so of course you want to bring him on your holiday in Devon. Two dogs are welcome at each of our country cottages at a small charge per animal. There’s no shortage of walks round these parts – in fact you can stride out right from the doorstep! All we ask is that you follow our dog rules…

8.  We can do large groups!

Our self catering accommodation in Devon sleeps 4-14, but don’t forget – you can book as many as you like. We often take bookings for large groups who want more than one cottage – it’s a great option for big family holidays, celebrations, and for self catering corporate breaks. You can all get together for big barbecues and picnics in the field! Happy days!

9. There’s lots to do round here!

Within a short drive you’ll find so much to see and do! There are family attractions like Wildwood Escot, The Donkey Sanctuary, Dunkeswell Aerodrome, Crealy Theme Park & Resort, and World of Country Life. The beaches are within easy reach, as is Exeter with its glorious cathedral and medieval underground passages. There are walks galore and great places to eat.

10.  It’s easy to get here!

We might be out in the sticks but our nearest town, Honiton, is only two miles away, and Exeter is only 30 minutes away. Stonehayes Farm is within easy reach of the M5 motorway, the A30 and the A358, so it’s easy to get here from all directions.
