Home Farm Hotel Restaurant, Wilmington, Honiton, Devon

Home Farm Hotel Restaurant is a family run affair set back from the main road in the village of Wilmington, between Axminster and Honiton in Devon. Look out for a lovely old thatched building set on the hillside, packed with charm and character inside and out.

The restaurant is open to residents and non-residents alike, and a takeaway service is available. If you have a penchant for Thai food you ought to give it a go because it’s very, very good, cooked with flair and passion, putting local ingredients to good use and all in keeping with the seasons. You’ll have a choice of authentic dishes – things like Tom Yum Soup, Crispy belly pork or Koong tempura to start, and mains of Yang grilled seafood, Pad Takai (spare ribs), or Slow cooked Massaman lamb. Though the food is predominantly Thai, there’s also an English menu with the likes of Lamb shank, Pan fried sea bass and Creamy chicken tagliatelle.

They also serve tea and coffee at Home Farm Hotel Restaurant, from 11.00am Monday to Saturday, and afternoon tea from 3.00pm – so there you are, trip to the seaside (Lyme Regis, Seaton or Charmouth) with a stop off for a scrumptious cream tea on the way back to your Devon holiday cottage at Stonehayes Farm.

One thing to remember - whether you want to eat in or take your food home with you, it’s very important that you book in advance.
