Right by the beach at Brixham, Breakwater Bistro has all the seasidey feels that it should have – wooden floorboards and a wooden bar, blue painted walls and accessories that add to the vibe. Big windows overlook the sea and fill the place with that lovely coastal light.
They pride themselves on serving the finest local meats, seafoods, wines and spirits, kicking off with breakfast until 11:30am – The Full English, Brixham Scallops & Bacon, Vegan Hash, and Baps, to give you an idea of how varied the menu is. Up until 5:00pm you can have a sandwich (got to be the Brixham crab, hasn’t it?), and from 12 noon there’s a fantastic choice of meat dishes, seafood, vegan fare and salads – Brixham Fish of the Day, Seafood & Chorizo paella, Rump steaks, Piri Piri chicken, Wild mushroom & spinach risotto, Brixham crab salad, Chicken Caesar salad.
Those with a penchant for something sweet will be happy with the selection of ice creams, desserts (Passionfruit ice cream cheesecake, Warm chocolate brownie, Homemade Baileys cream brulee) and waffles.
There’s also a children’s menu and you’ll need to note that if there are more than 7 of you, if you have accessibility issues or want to take the pet pooch, you’ll need to give them a call to book a table.
