Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, Combe Martin, Devon

A day out at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park is one way to keep those little explorers or animal enthusiasts happy. There is SO much to see and do here, with 28 acres of beautiful botanical gardens, a dinosaur museum with real fossils and dinosaur footprints, and the biggest indoor play area in North Devon. Ride the Dino Express Train, see the animatronic dinosaurs the park is famous for, say hello to the lions, wolves, sea lions, primates, meerkats and penguins, and go and spot the creepy crawlies in Critter Cavern. There are talks and encounters everyday, or book in advance for one of the animal experiences – feed the lions, swim with a sea lion, give the wolves their breakfast.

On site there’s a café and a deli, or if you bring a picnic you can eat out in the sunshine or undercover if the weather’s not so good. It would be rude not to stop at the gift shop for a little momento of your visit, and besides, it rounds it all off nicely. Note that dogs aren’t allowed at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, and that because some parts of the park are rather steep, getting around with pushchairs and buggies can be difficult. There is however, a free hire baby carriers service, which might be a better option. Plan it well because this is a brilliant day out when you're staying in your Devon holiday cottage at Stonehayes Farm.
