Discover the beaches that form part of the UNSECO World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast; catch spectacular sunsets from the clifftop beer garden of The Anchor Inn at Beer, ride the miniature steam railway at Pecorama and find out about the 2,000 year history of Beer Quarry Caves. Play on the sand at Exmouth and Sidmouth, go bird watching on the Axe estuary at Axmouth, ride the tram along the marshes at Seaton, see blacksmiths at work in one of the oldest forges in the country at Branscombe. Go for walks on the clifftop in the bracing fresh air on the South West Coast Path or explore the footpaths and bridleways on the East Devon Way.

Amongst the breathtaking countryside you’ll find ancient monuments, historic buildings, and picturesque villages where you can enjoy a leisurely pub lunch. Treat yourselves to dinner at The Pig at Combe, River Cottage near Axminster or catch the water taxi out to the River Exe Café built on a custom built barge that floats off shore in the Exe estuary. Fill your basket at one of the farmers markets or farm shops where the shelves are stacked with an abundance of local produce.

Have the happiest family days out at The Donkey Sanctuary, Wildwood Escot, Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, Axe Valley Wildlife Park or World of Country Life. All are great for grown ups and kids alike so go and make wonderful memories of your holiday with a venture into the East Devon AONB.
