Marco’s Italian is a nice, friendly restaurant on the High Street in Budleigh Salterton where they serve all the kind of things you’d expect – like Clamari fritti (peeled prawns on a bed of salad with Marie-Rose sauce and Italian bread), Fungi all’aglio ( sliced mushrooms in a garlic, tomato and cream sauce with focaccia) and Formaggio Caprino e Miele (sliced sourdough baked with goat’s cheese, drizzled with honey, topped with pancetta crisps) to start, and for mains, Spigola la forno (oven baked fillets of sea bass with garlic, cherry tomatoes, white wine and king prawns with roast potatoes and vegetables), Lasagna della Nonna ((Marco’s Nan’s special recipe lasagne with salad), and Melanzine Parmigiana (thinly sliced aubergine layered with tomato sauce and mozzarella oven baked with a side salad). They also do pizzas and roasts and they have a children’s menu, so you should all be happy and leave with full bellies.
Reviews say the staff are friendly, the service is very attentive and the atmosphere is good.
