Masons Arms, Branscombe, Devon

The Masons Arms stands on the hill that rolls gently down to the sea in Branscombe, a picturesque village on the World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast in Devon. Have a walk along the South West Coast Path and then head back for lunch in this charming 14th century pub. Inside is all the character you’d expect from a building of that age – bumpy old whitewashed walls, low beamed ceilings, exposed timbers and on colder days, a roaring log fire to keep you warm and toasty. In the summer it’s nice to sit outside in the garden and watch the comings and goings, folk skipping down to the beach, or strolling back up.

Food is good at the Masons Arms; seasonal pub classics with a modern twist, sharing boards and fresh fish – all ingredients are sourced locally of course. So, on the mains are dishes like Fish and chips, Roasted red pepper and pea tagliatelle, and Aberdeen Angus steak burger. At lunchtime you can have a Hand picked Devon crab sandwich, a Beetroot falafel wrap, Pork pie Ploughman’s or Steak frites.
