Neil’s Restaurant, Sidmouth, Devon

Just a short stroll from the main beach at Sidmouth, Neil’s Restaurant serves fish and seafood that’s freshly caught in the waters off the Devon coast. Of course, the catch differs every day so after it comes in they set about changing the three course fixed menu to work with what’s there and the fresh seasonal ingredients that are around in this lovely little corner of the world. To give you an idea, past dishes include Melon and Orange Cocktail and Panko Crumbed Brixham Monkfish for starters, and mains like Lyme Bay Scallops with Smoked Bacon and Mushrooms, Fresh West Country Lobster in Garlic and Lemon Butter and Pan Fried Brixham Skate Wing. Leave room in your tum for desserts because they are heavenly - Chocolate and Orange Tart with Clotted Cream, Summer Berry Fruit Pudding or if you don’t have such a sweet tooth, there’s a West Country Cheese Board.

Best to book because it’s a popular place.

Opening times: Tues - Sat 6:15pm-8:30pm.
