On the Waterfront, Exeter, Devon

The setting for On the Waterfront is a 19th century warehouse, stunningly renovated and still retaining the original brick arches. This bar and restaurant down on the Quay in Exeter is popular with locals and visitors, testament to its upbeat vibe and tasty food. They serve tapas and small plates that include Coconut, chilli and lime fishcakes, Moroccan lamb Shaslik, and Baked Camembert, as well as burgers, rack of bacon ribs and steak ciabatta. What they are known for is their scrummy pizzas; on the menu are temptations like the Cowboy (pulled ham, BBQ chicken and smoked pepperoni), Crispy Duck and Hawaiian. If you’re particularly hungry or have a large appetite opt for the 16’ Large Dustbin Lid pizzas, or have one to share if you can all agree on toppings.

Eat in the bar or restaurant or on the heated terrace where you can watch the comings and goings with views over the historic ship canal. Families are welcome.
