Staple Hill Easy Access Trail, Staple Fitzpaine, Taunton, Somerset
No one, we repeat, no one, should be denied the preposterously beautiful views from the highest point in the Blackdown Hills AONB – hence the Staple Hill Easy Access Trail. It’s short, at 1km, with terrain suitable for buggies, scooters, wheelchairs and pushchairs, and there are picnic benches so think about it – an hour or so in the fresh air tucking into your sandwiches and sausage rolls, all around you the glorious Somerset countryside. What better way to escape the hubbub of life?
Those views. Truly incredible. You can see over to the Quantock Hills, to Exmoor National Park, the Mendips and the Somerset Levels, and on a clear day, across the Bristol Channel to Wales. Take your binoculars.
