The Hare & Hounds, Sidbury, Sidmouth, Devon
The Hare & Hounds is a very popular free house near Sidmouth, a proper country pub where they serve good food and local ales and everyone is welcome. It’s great for families as in the garden there’s a play area for the little ones; they can let off steam whilst the grown ups take in the marvellous views of the Devon countryside, rolling gently down the valley to the sea.
What The Hare & Hounds is renowned for is the excellent carvery that’s served every lunchtime and evening, and all day on Sundays. Meat and veg come from trusted Devon suppliers, some of it grown or raised within a few miles. There is also a menu of freshly prepared classic pub food and dishes with world flavours – Chicken burrito, Lasagne, Seafood hotpot, steaks, baguettes and jacket potatoes, so plenty of choice.
Another bonus is the two car parks and the fact that dogs are allowed in the Tap Room and Lounge Bar.
