The Millside, Lyme Regis, Dorset

The Millside is tucked away in the historic Town Mill area of Lyme Regis and serves excellent food for lunch or dinner, mostly but certainly not exclusively, seafood and fish freshly caught in the local waters. Inside it’s all very easy going, with old beams running across the ceiling adding to the cosy ambience in the evening; on warmer days the terrace is a lovely spot to dine in the sunshine or to cool off with an ice cold drink.

The menu is seasonal as ingredients are fresh and local; a big feature on it is fish from the day’s catch at the harbour the other end of town. Spoil yourselves with three courses – for starters Seasme Seared Tuna Loin or Escargots (one of those things you always say you’ll try but never have – well, here’s your chance!), for mains indulge in a Devon Lobster, Dorset Fillet Steak or Marinated West Country Lamb Cutlets with Somerset Goats Cheese Mousse and a Dorset Honey and Orange Reduction - delightful! Desserts are hard to resist - English Rhubarb Panna Cotta, Apple Pie, or if you’ve less of a sweet tooth, a Selection of Local Cheeses.

There are vegetarian and vegan options and a menu for little ones. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment because actually, you wouldn’t want to miss out on this.
