The Passage House Inn, Topsham, Exeter, Devon
The Passage House Inn is on the edge of the estuary in Topsham, tucked down a side road, with a patio area giving direct views of the Exe estuary and the most glorious sunsets. Inside is a blend of traditional and modern, with interiors that reflect the coastal setting; in the winter, customers are greeted by the warmth of a log fire. This is very much a pub for all seasons, perfect for when you’re visiting Topsham for a browse around, or as a stop off when you’re cycling or walking along the Exe Estuary Trail.
People like it here, they like the food, the friendliness and the atmosphere. The menu is an ever changing one that has traditional pub dishes and seafood, made using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. The summer menu lists Beer battered haddock, chunky chips, minted mushy peas and tartare sauce, 8oz Sirloin Steak cooked with garlic butter, served with chunky chips, tomato, portobello mushroom and dressed side salad, Roasted Curried Cauliflower Tacos, and Vegetable Flatbread. There are also Sharers of Beef Chilli Nachos, a Ploughman’s Board, Vegetable Chilli Nachos, and a Seafood Platter. Between 12:00 and 4:00pm you can have a Beer Battered Fish Finger Ciabatta, Coronation Chickpea Wrap, or Philly Cheesesteak Ciabatta.
