The Sea Shanty Beach Café, Branscombe, Devon

Put your phones away, go to The Sea Shanty Beach Café down by the shore in Branscombe, and talk to each other. Actually talk to each other. Have a conversation. After a while you’ll probably find that it’s good to do that, to go somewhere like this and be a part of it - the relaxed ambience, the gorgeous setting on the Devon coast, people just enjoying tasty homemade food, content.

Local produce is definitely a thing here – fresh crab is landed right outside the door, salad veg and herbs are grown in the village, eggs come from a nearby farm, beer from a micro brewery just up the road, and bread and cakes from the family bakery a few miles along the coast in Sidmouth. Rock up for breakfast before you find your spot on the beach, go for lunch, or pop in for a snack.

On the menu you can expect to find enticements like Smoked mackerel pate with pickles & toasted ciabatta, Smoked haddock and leek rarebit, Handmade Shanty beefburger in a ciabatta bun with crisps & salad, and Hearty Homity Pie with locally grown leaves. Nom nom.
