Isn’t it lovely when you go out for the day and it just gets better and better? Go to the Canal Tea Rooms & Garden at Tiverton wharf after a trip along the Grand Western Canal on a horse drawn barge and that’s exactly what it’s like. These tea rooms are so charming! You can sit inside the whitewashed thatched cottage or if the sun is shining, find a table out in the pretty garden.
They serve tea and coffee, delicious homemade cakes and light lunches like baguettes, Ploughman’s, salads and jacket potatoes – to give you an idea think Pea & Mint Falafels, Smashed avocado on sourdough and Aromatic garden burger. If you’re not watching your weight or anything treat yourself to a proper job cream tea, or the full works – high tea. Service is the smiley friendly type, dogs are welcome in the garden and all in all it’s just a lovely place to be; be warned though, it can get busy in the height of summer...
