Seatown, Bridport, Dorset

Seatown consists of a tiny hamlet and one of the quieter beaches along the Jurassic coastline, accessed down a narrow winding lane off the A35. The beach itself is privately owned and like most of the beaches along this stretch of coastline, is shingle and shelving; it’s a popular little spot for families, fossil hunters and fishermen and perhaps one of the reasons it doesn’t tend to get crowded is because there isn’t much in the way of facilities here – no shops, cafes or kiosks, but there is a very good pub, The Anchor, with outdoor seating overlooking the beach.

Seatown lies within an AONB in the shadow of Golden Cap, the highest point on the South coast of England, which means there are clifftop walks to be had on the South West Coast Path.

Dogs are not allowed on the beach between May and September
