Sidmouth Folk Festival, Sidmouth, Devon

From huge concerts and ceilidhs to folk dancing and storytelling, the Sidmouth Folk Festival has it all. The beach-side location on the Jurassic Coast in East Devon is the perfect place for singing, dancing and all the fun you could possibly want. Held every year in the first week of August, the festival has been running since 1955 so they’ve had plenty of time to perfect their craft.

And perfect it they have, with absolutely loads to do! Over 700 events of all shapes and sizes are held all over town, so take your pick; join in a workshop, check out some of the nifty footwork in the dance displays, have drinks and tasty homemade food in the sunshine at one of the pubs or cafés, surrounded by lots of happy smiley people. If you’ve got the fam with you take the young ‘uns to a crafting or music session where they can sing and dance, make puppets and pom-poms and wind socks and the like.

You can buy tickets for Sidmouth Folk Festival in advance or come as a day visitor; either way you’ll find plenty to entertain you and you can immerse yourself in the colourful upbeat ambience. Be a part of it!
