The Dolls House, Lulworth, Wareham, Dorset

Ooh, sometimes you find the loveliest little places when you’re out and about on your group holidays in the West Country. Like The Dolls House, a traditional fudge and sweet shop with a tea garden and ice cream parlour, set in the cutest jade-green cottage on the lane that winds down to Lulworth Cove.

Take a wee trip down memory lane when you go in and choose your sweeties, sit among the flowers in the sunshine and tuck into a cream tea, all proper job with freshly baked scones, and a gurt dollop of jam and cream, or get yourself a dreamy-creamy ice cream.

The backdrop is thatched cottages and woodlands, and by all accounts, the cottage, made with timbers and planks shipped all the way from Newfoundland in Canada, was once lived in by fishermen – it all adds to the romance of The Dolls House.

Bear in mind that it gets very busy at Lulworth Cove in the summer months. Everyone wants a piece of that beautiful scenery, you see.
