The Six Bells Inn, Payhembury, Honiton, Devon
The Six Bells Inn is what you call a traditional country pub, right in the middle of the Payhembury, serving the local community well and extending a warm welcome to visitors who happen to be poking about in this part of rural Devon. You can go in and play pool or skittles, put the world to rights over a pint of the local brew, and tuck into hearty homemade of the pub favourites kind – fish and chips, ham egg and chips, cottage pie, and for vegetarians, a cheesy chilli pot.
They’re quite big on entertainment too, hosting quiz nights, bike nights and live music, which all seem to go down well. If you like a decent, honest pub with no fuss and frills, this is one to try.
