The Strand Stores, Culmstock, Cullompton, Devon
It’s fair to describe The Strand Stores in Culmstock as a serendipitous find, one that excels your expectations, especially when you consider that this little local shop and café is tucked away in a sleepy village on the Blackdown Hills in Devon.
Apart from being able to stock up on provisions at the Strand Stores you can also stop for coffee and cake or for a light lunch. Everything is homemade or produced within a few miles and goodness, it’s delicious; pies and pasties, scotch eggs, frittatas, and sometimes on Friday nights in the summer they do pizza to eat in or takeaway. It’s a wonderful 21st century take on the traditional village shop. We love it.
