Uffculme, Devon

When you’re staying at our holiday cottages in Devon you might pootle up to Uffculme to visit Coldharbour Mill, one of the oldest working woollen mills in the UK. Whilst you’re here have a wander and see what else is about – there are a few essential shops, a traditional pub, The Ostler Inn, now the only pub left in the village, and there are some very good walks into the Blackdown Hills; a stroll along the River Culm, or along the old railway line will soon reveal just how beautiful this neck of the woods is.

What Uffculme certainly isn’t lacking is community spirit; there’s plenty of it, with regular events like a Farmer’s Market, a Music and Real Ale Festival, and on the first Bank Holiday in May, Uffculme Show, which is all very country fair with arena events, local craft and trade stands, classic cars, a dog show, food and live music. Go and join in the fun.
