Happy Christmas from Stonehayes Farm! We’d like to say we’re winding down for the festive season but that wouldn’t be true because we’ll still be busy with change overs for Christmas and New Year. But we don’t mind at all, we love welcoming guests to our family friendly Devon holiday cottages whatever time of year it is.
Our dog friendly holiday cottages in Devon look so gorgeous with the Christmas decs up, even if we say so ourselves; we like to make them all twinkly and cosy so that it helps our guests to enjoy the most perfect Christmas in the country. It’s so special here this time of year, getting up on Christmas morning, the little ones rushing in full of glee with their stockings: “He’s been!” they yell excitedly and within a few minutes there’s wrapping paper everywhere! Then it’s time to stuff the turkey and put it in the oven; whilst it’s cooking pop on your boots, your coats and hats and scarves and go for a stroll down across the fields and along the little river that flows merrily in the valley at Stonehayes Farm. Back you go, rosy cheeked to your holiday cottage for mince pies and Christmas cheer.
Because our holiday cottages in Devon sleep 4-14 people they’re great for couples, families and larger groups; cosy up in Siskins Nook or Pipits Retreat, get aunts and uncles, grandparents and cousins together for a big happy stay in Whinchat Barns or Pippinsands; all are well equipped and have super comfy beds so you’ll have contented days and restful nights. That’s what it’s all about, taking your ease and letting time slow down for a while in an idyllic little world far away from the push and shove.
Venture out to explore the local area and you’ll find beautiful countryside to walk in, quiet market towns to browse, family attractions to visit and welcoming country pubs where you can tuck into hearty homemade food. Head over to the beaches on the Jurassic Coast for a Boxing Day stroll along the shore; if you’re brave enough join in one of the invigorating annual swims in the sea.
