The trees are going up as we write, the fairy lights are twinkling and it’s all looking very festive and lovely in our dog friendly Devon holiday cottages. There’s just one thing that remains - to wish you all a stonking great Merry Christmas from Stonehayes Farm!
So, Merry Christmas from Stonehayes Farm, to you and yours, wherever you are, whoever you’re with. Have a wonderful time and enjoy every minute of the festive holiday! This very special time of year is all about being with family and friends, gathering to share the days and make happy memories.
And that’s what we’re about too! Our Devon holiday cottages were made for getting together, for reconnecting, just idling away the hours in this lovely little world deep in the Blackdown Hills. This year has been so exciting; we’ve welcomed back guests who have stayed here before and we’ve met new ones and it’s been such a joy to see them all relaxed and happy in their country cottages. Some come for week long holidays, some for a midweek break, and some just for a weekend, but it’s always so lovely to see the smiles and hear the laughter.
You might already know that there are big changes ahead at Stonehayes Farm. Early in 2024 work starts to convert 3 of our holiday cottages into one large one that will provide group accommodation for 16 guests in 7 bedrooms. Julesbrook will be available from May 2024 and will have its own hot tub, games room, movie room and children’s play area. It’s going to be a fantastic place to stay for large family holidays and celebrations with the people you love most in the world.
Sadly, this means we will be saying goodbye to Dippers Rest, Wagtail Corner and Pipits Retreat; we know some of you have loved coming to stay in these family friendly holiday cottages, and it wasn’t an easy decision to make, but it’s clear that in recent years, people want to be together more, to enjoy what’s precious in life. Large group holiday cottages provide what is for some, a rare opportunity to spend a few days away together – time that is priceless and irreplaceable.
And if you’d like a last minute Christmas cottage in Devon, or to stay in one of those 3 holiday houses one last time, take a look at our winter availability and come for an out of season break when the prices are lower and everything is even more peaceful round here.
