Otterton, Budleigh Salterton, Devon

Otterton, near Budleigh Salterton, is a picturesque village, the kind you might see on one of those lovely old fashioned postcards; stroll about and you’ll notice the charm – the thatched cottages, the village green and the stream that flows along the main street. What makes it even better is that it’s surrounded by gorgeous East Devon countryside, so it’s a good place for a stroll out into the hills, along the River Otter, out to the clifftops and out to Ladram Bay.

Go to Otterton Mill on the banks of the river, have a look round the shop and gallery, watch flour being ground and have a bite to eat in the café, or if the weather’s nice, sit outside and soak up the charm and the contented air. If you fancy a pub lunch wander down to The Kings Arms where they serve good homemade fare.
