Seaton Tramway, Seaton, Devon

Ride on Seaton Tramway through 3 miles of beautiful unspoilt Devon countryside along the estuary of the River Axe, passing through tranquil nature reserves and wetlands that are home to a plethora of wildlife. It’s rather fun for the whole family – dogs are allowed on the lower deck so the pet pooch can join you. Alight at Colyton for a cream tea at the Tramstop Café, or have a stroll around the town, maybe pop into The Kingfisher Inn for a glass of the local ale and tasty home cooked food. At Seaton you can wander out along the beach to the Hideaway café tucked between the cliffs with incredible sea views; they have regular events, like the Story Tram in the summer months and Father’s Day when Dads ride for free

Seaton Tramway is a 2ft 9” narrow gauge electric tramway that gives you a taste of a bygone age and it’s actually quite a joy to travel slowly through the marshes on board an open top tram. Don’t forget to wave when you get to the crossing at Colyford! Trams generally run from 10.00am-5.00pm in the summer season and at other times of the year it varies so you’d be wise to check the website before you go.
