Our holiday cottages near Exeter are just a five minute drive from the A30 and the market town of Honiton. If you’re travelling to the city by car you can be there in about half an hour, or the train journey from Honiton is a similar time on the London Waterloo to Penzance line.

Exeter maybe small in city terms but it’s got a very upbeat air and is great for those who like shopping, with plenty of big name stores and tucked away in cobbled streets off the city centre, quirky independent shops. There’s a wide choice of bars, cafes, pubs and restaurants to eat at, and if you’re looking for things to do as a family, you won’t be disappointed. Head for the RAM Museum where you can see exhibits from around the globe, including exotic animals, birds and butterflies, and the tomb of an Egyptian mummy. Visit the glorious cathedral, take a tour of the Underground Passages that were built in medieval times to bring clean water into the city, go down to the quayside for fun at Clip n Climb or to hire kayaks from Saddles and Paddles for an adventure on the calm waters of the River Exe; make your way up to the Double Locks for a pub lunch, or try stand-up paddleboarding.
