Winter evenings at Stonehayes Farm

Make memories to take home and keep forever when you stay in our holiday cottages for Christmas and New Year at Stonehayes Farm. Deep in the Devon countryside with the Blackdown Hills AONB all around, it’s like another world here. No constant hubbub of city noise, no blaring sirens, no blazing lights, no crowds. Just peace and quiet and when you step outside the door, bounteous fresh air and views that roll softly on for miles. The dark night skies are studded with stars, you’ll hear owls calling and maybe the distant bark of a fox.

Family friendly holidays

You see, there’s something very magical about Stonehayes Farm, which is why it’s the perfect escape for Christmas and New Year breaks with the people who are closest to you. Our Devon holiday cottages are well-equipped, dog friendly and family friendly – we can even supply cots for you. Drift off to sleep in lovely comfy beds, snuggle up on inviting sofas, light the wood-burner and gather round with mugs of steaming hot chocolate and trays of toast oozing with butter. Wear your festive jumpers and thick socks, watch your favourite Christmas movie; make it perfect.

Christmas tree decorated at Stonehayes

Our little helpers will be busy putting up the decorations for you before you arrive, so you’ll walk through the door to the cosiest Christmas cottage, the tree will be decorated, fairy lights will be a-glow and there’ll be little bits of Christmas everywhere. Hang your stockings up, put your presents under the tree, fill the house with all those gorgeous festive aromas – mulled wine, mince pies and roast turkey. Get organised and arrange a grocery delivery or browse one of the local farm shops where you’ll find goodies galore.

Make New Year’s Eve just how you want it to be, whether it’s indoors warm and snug by the firelight in front of the TV, or playing party games; open the door at midnight and hear the church bells ringing out across the valley – out with the old, in with the new. Make wishes and set intentions as you welcome 2024. Start New Year’s Day with a good breakfast, then wrap up warm in coats and scarves and set off for a walk in the fields; wander through the woodlands ankle deep in last year’s autumn leaves, stroll along the little River Luv or up to Dumpdon Hill where the views are breathtaking.

We have just a little availability left for Christmas and New Year so be quick - take advantage of our Special Offers because we don’t want you to miss out. And when we say miss out, we mean miss out because this is the last Christmas and New Year that three of our holiday cottages will be available – from next May, Dippers Rest, Wagtail Corner and Pipits Retreat will be transformed into one big holiday house to sleep16, called Julesbrook. With a hot tub, games room and play area it’s certainly one to keep in mind for big family holidays and celebrations, but in the meantime, groups of up to 11 can spend New Year at Whinchat Barns, at Wagtail Corner, which sleeps 5, or at Dippers Rest, which sleeps 6. The only availability we have left for Christmas is Pipits Retreat, where there’s snooze space for 5, so like we say, you’ll need to get in quick.
