Houses To Rent For Family Celebrations

We’re quite new to this game but we’ve noticed that there’s a big demand for houses to rent for family celebrations. It seems that a lot of people choose to step away from hiring a hall for a big old bash with singing and dancing all night, and instead they’re looking to find a big holiday house in the country where they can get away for a few days with close family to celebrate that milestone birthday or anniversary.

Well, if you’ve got something big coming up, say a 40th or 50th birthday, maybe a 70th or even an 80th, or a wedding anniversary that’s worth shouting about, bring your nearest and dearest and come and celebrate at Stonehayes Farm. Our Devon holiday cottages sleep 2-14 people and are set in a private location overlooking the beautiful Otter Valley near Honiton. It’s a real rural retreat for those special celebrations, with peace and quiet, fresh air and glorious countryside all around. If there’s a really big group of you then book all five of our family friendly and dog friendly holiday cottages and bring up to 34 folk – just imagine! Stonehayes Farm all to yourselves for a whole week, a midweek break or a weekend! Woo hoo!

So sit down, make a list. Grandma, Grandpa, Mum and Dad, uncles, aunties, cousins, brothers, sisters... Bring them all, come to Stonehayes Farm and have a very special time, make long lasting memories to take home and treasure. Spend those days roaming the 15 acres of private land here, and the fields beyond; have lazy picnics down by the river, climb up to Dumpdon Hill and watch the sunset, all yours to enjoy - all yours! And don’t forget we have a big games room so you can rouse up a bit of in-house competition, get a ping-pong rally going, a pool championship – crumbs, you could even have your own sports day here!

The country cottages at Stonehayes Farm are perfect for family holidays and celebrations; the former farmhouse, Pippinsands sleeps 14 people and has its own private hot tub and a big garden where squirrels scamper up the trees and birds chirrup all day long. Whinchat Barns sleep 11, but don’t forget you can book as many of our Devon cottages as you like – Dippers Rest sleeps 6, Pipits Retreat and Wagtail Corner both have snooze space for 5, and Siskins Nook is a cosy retreat for 4. The beauty of Stonehayes Farm is that you don’t all have to stay in the same house – each family in your large group can have their own cottage but you can still all socialise together in the shared grounds, which is great because let’s face it, we all need our own space sometimes.

If you’ve been to Stonehayes Farm before you’ll know that there’s a multitude of things to see and do nearby. Honiton is less than a couple of miles away and has mostly independent shops to browse and some very good places to eat; pootle out round the lanes and you’ll find pretty Devon villages where there’s usually a welcoming country pub, so stop and raise a glass to that special event. Explore the Jurassic Coast – you can be there in under half an hour and you’ll have such a diverse choice of beaches to visit. Sidmouth is quite an elegant Regency town with a long promenade, towering red sandstone cliffs, and a big expanse of sand; Beer is a quaint fishing village with cafés right on the beach and a pub beer garden up on the clifftop, and if you go to Lyme Regis, you can stroll along the famous Cobb, play crazy golf in the town gardens, see marine life close up in the aquarium, or go out to sea on a mackerel fishing trip. There are heaps of family attractions to visit within easy reach but the chances are you’ll just want to chill out at Stonehayes Farm with the people you love most in the world.

So if you’ve got a significant birthday, an important anniversary, or any other reason to celebrate big time then come on down to Stonehayes Farm with your family. Make it a time to remember in our homely cottages in the spectacular scenery of East Devon. Take a closer look at our houses to rent for family celebrations and book your stay today!
