And of course, October half term often coincides with Halloween, so don’t forget to pack your dressing up clothes! Witches hats, scary masks, cobwebs and cloaks! There will be plenty of fun to be had at World of Country Life and down at Crealy Theme Park & Resort they’ll be holding their annual Spookfest. There are usually half term events at The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth and the brilliant RAM Museum in Exeter too – keep an eye out for what they have planned.

If you have something quieter in mind, well that’s fine because at our cosy holiday cottages  you can tuck yourself away and have a little world of your own, far, far away from the hectic pace of life in the big towns and cities. Wander at your own pace in our 15 acre grounds or in the beautiful Blackdown Hills; climb to the top of Dumpdon Hillfort up behind the farm and wend your way through the beech woods, kicking up leaves as you go. Catch them as they come swirling down and make a wish; look out over the valley and it’s like autumn has spread a cloak of gold and red and yellow and brown all across the fields and woods.
