Country Cottages For Shortbreaks

It's important to us that our guests have a happy and relaxing stay when they rent our Devon country cottages for short breaks; that's why we've made sure all the boxes are ticked, so that you'll have everything you need while you're here. You'll find all the home comforts and a restful ambience, which is exactly what a short break in the country is all about - plus of course, all that glorious scenery and big open skies, and bird song. We have plenty of that because Stonehayes Farm is tucked away in the lanes in the Blackdown Hills; there are 15 acres of private grounds at your disposal, with a play area for the little ones and walks down across the fields to the river where you can have a leisurely picnic and roll up your trouser legs for a paddle.

Just down the road is Honiton, with shops, supermarkets and good places to eat, within 30 minutes drive is the Jurassic Coast with beaches at Sidmouth, Beer and Branscombe, and further along, Seaton and Lyme Regis. There are family attractions nearby that are easy to get to - like Wildwood Escot (one of our faves!), Axe Valley Wildlife Park, The Donkey Sanctuary, Pecorama, for train enthusiasts, and Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. Have a day out exploring, stop off for an ice cream at Otter Valley Field Kitchen, or for a laid back pub lunch at one of the many country inns in this neck of the woods.

And of course there are walks in the beautiful countryside that we are lucky enough to have right on the doorstep at Stonehayes Farm; wander up to Dumpdon Hill or Hembury Fort to see the bluebells in springtime, or to walk through the beech woods in the autumn, ankle deep in last year's leaves. Bimble around Otterhead Lakes, watch trout rising, swans gliding and dippers bobbing in the stream, climb to the top of Culm Beacon for panormaic views across the landscape.

Make it the happiest, the most perfect of times when you stay at our Devon country cottages for short breaks; big smiles, happy memories.
