You’ll like it here, we’re quite confident of that because Stonehayes Farm is like another world – one that’s far removed from the push and shove of life, the noise and the hectic pace. Here, life slows down, days seem long and languid, nights are for drifting off to sleep in the peace and quiet. It’s a place to dream, a place to make wonderful memories.
Spring is here now, we’re seeing more sunshine, and summer will follow. Summer is so idyllic here when the sun is out; the birds chirrup all day long in the treetops, cow parsley billows in the hedgerows, big fat mash potato clouds drift by in a speedwell blue sky. Balmy nights can be enjoyed outdoors beneath the stars – even better when you’re relaxing in the bubbly warmth of a hut tub. All 3 of our gorgeous holiday cottages have hot tubs, and actually, it doesn’t need to be warm out for you to enjoy a soak – some guests love it in the middle of winter!
We think you’ll be perfectly happy to while away every minute of your stay right here. In fact we’d put money on it, but, if you do fancy venturing out into the local area to see what’s about, you won’t be disappointed. Honiton is 5 minutes down the road, with shops, a regular market and some good places to eat, like Bella Pizza and the quirky Yellow Deli. Just outside of town is Otter Valley Ice Cream & Field Kitchen and in the other direction, Heron Farm, with a fairy garden, vineyard tours and an award-winning café. Within easy reach you can have family days out at places like Wildwood Devon, Crealy Theme Park & Resort or The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth. For days by the sea, the beaches on the Jurassic Coast are just half an hour away.
So come and stay, come and find your big happy, whether there are 14, 16, 18 or 20 of you. The old thatched farmhouse, Pippinsands, sleeps 14 and has so much country character; if this house had arms they would be wrapped around you as soon as you stepped inside, welcoming you, inviting you to make yourself at home. Julesbrook sleeps 16 and has a different kind of vibe, with a more contemporary look, but it’s just as appealing; it has a games room, a movie room and a play area as well as its own hot tub, so it’s great for multi-generational stays.
And then there’s Siskins Nook, dear little Siskins Nook, which sleeps 4, so if there are more of you it can be booked alongside the bigger cottages to accommodate groups of 18 or 20, or, if you booked all three (it’s been done before!) there’s snooze space for 34. The cottages all have their own private gardens, and guests are also free to explore the 15 acre grounds here, strolling through sun dappled woodlands and wandering down across the fields to the riverside for picnics and a paddle. There's also a shared games room on site for all to make the most of. It’s a wonderful world at Stonehayes Farm and we are grateful for it everyday, but we don’t live here – it’s for you to enjoy, for you to spend special times with the people you love most in the world.
